Judge Blocks White House Press Ban; Outlets Reinstated as Unwanted Guests

A federal judge just ordered the White House to let reporters from CNN, Politico and MS NOW back into the building while their lawsuit plays out, so as of this week they're back with their notebooks and their hard passes and absolutely no welcome basket.

The press office, to its credit, moved fast on a compromise: CNN can watch the briefings on mute from the gift shop.

And by late afternoon, staff were asking whether the First Amendment comes with a free trial they can cancel.
