LOS GATOS, CA — In an effort to cater to viewers with ever-shrinking attention spans, Netflix has unveiled a new feature called “Skip to the Good Part,” allowing users to bypass entire seasons and jump directly to the final episode’s cliffhanger ending.
“We understand that committing to 10 or more episodes is a big ask in today’s world,” said Netflix spokesperson Alex Hutton. “Why waste time on character development or plot twists when you can just skip to the part where the protagonist dies, or the villain is revealed to be someone’s long-lost twin?”
Early testers of the feature have expressed mixed reactions. “It’s genius,” said Sarah Cole, a self-proclaimed binge-watcher. “I went from knowing nothing about the plot to sobbing uncontrollably in the last five minutes of the finale. Zero investment, maximum emotional payoff.”
In addition to skipping full seasons, the feature comes with a built-in “Spoiler Accelerator” that delivers key plot points in under 30 seconds, narrated by Morgan Freeman. “If you really don’t care, we’ve got you covered,” Hutton added.
At publishing time, Netflix was reportedly testing an even faster option called “Skip Entire Show,” which ends with a single text message summarizing everything: “Everyone you liked died.”
